PROGRESSIVE REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, 2016:

30th NOVEMBER, 2016

The country is fully in campaign mood 10 months before election with so many alignments and launching of different key positions by different politicians. The issues of corruption and misappropriation of funds being a key factor with blame game on both sides of opposition and the government.

On the other had the month of November, we held very health discussion with Eloise who has really been very useful in terms of helping us to be more focused on our organizing work.

Having done with the awareness campaign on the issues of children and drug abuse in all the villages, a select committee is set to meet next week to strategize on our major campaign scheduled to take place by the month of March next year 2017.

Meetings with those undergoing transformation processes took place on 3rd and 17th November respectively. Majority of those undergoing transformation processes availed themselves and their progress is quite encouraging.

On the other hand organizing has been going on well.

IMPACT OF THE VISIT OF THE UNITED STATE OF AMERICAN PRESIDENT IN KENYA

IMPACT OF THE VISIT OF THE UNITED STATE OF AMERICAN PRESIDENT IN KENYA

The visit of the American President has given Kenya as a country positive publicity on the Global stage which we hope will improve to revive our tourism industry.

His visit was a vote of confidence after week ties with the West for a long time.

On issues of Security the US president promised to support and boost government on the fight against Alshabab as well as supporting other governance initiative and joint county action plans.

By the very fact that the Global Entrepreneurship took place in Kenya, this alone gives an opening for more funding/ many investors’ opportunities that we are also looking forward to explore too.

In actual fact The President himself promised more funding to benefit youth and women in the country.

Other issues that he emphasized on included

– Applauded the New Constitution and the peaceful elections in Kenya

– Emphasized on the role of Civil Society Organizations

– Civil participation, Freedom rights Liberties and Tolerance

– Talked strongly against corruptions, Violence and Terrorism

– The role of women and youth in the Nation building

– Talked of Ethnicity as a drawback to National development

– Giving power to the local communities and the respect of the minority

– Role of conserving our environment for our children

– Power of Networking and collaboration

– Innovation and entrepreneurships.

A PROGRESSIVE REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER, 2014

27nd DECEMBER, 2014

Introduction

The Organization spent the early part of December in planning for the celebrations for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHIA) as part of campaigning and championing for their rights. After the activity which was a huge success we reviewed the same and made a follow up of the stakeholders who had attended as guests and members of PLWHA. Majority had already traveled up country for December festive season.

Celebrations

The celebrations took place on 9th December, 2014 as scheduled at the Word of life Church in Kariobangi which gave us a free venue for the celebrations.

The main goal of the event was to give part of our members (PLWHIA) a forum for celebration in this December festive season and sharing their challenges and experiences. It also provided an opportunity to engage the government to seriously look into the issues of health especially HIV/AIDS in Korogocho and the neighboring estates.

The event started at 9.30am and ended at 2.00pm and this is the summary of what took place during that day.

A PROGRESSIVE REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, 2014

29TH NEVEMBER, 2014

Introduction

The month of November was vibrant with a number of activities on the ground being membership recruitment drive, planning committee meetings and membership meetings.

As a country, we faced a major challenge of insecurity as the Al- Shabab militia massacred 28 people in Mandera North Eastern part of the country.

In Korogocho and the neighboring estates same issue of insecurity was witnessed in form of mugging and other petty crimes. These cases normally increase as we approach the festive seasons of December every year.

Campaigns.

The organizing committee is planning for big celebration for people living with HIV/AIDs on 9 December 2014. We are targeting 1,000 people from Korogocho and the neighboring estates to attend. It will be a two-day event. On 8 December we will have Testing and Counseling for HIV/AIDs which will culminate into a celebration on the following day. Faulu Kenya Bank one of our stakeholders has agreed to partially sponsor the event.

The celebration for children as part of campaigns to push for guiding policies on use of drugs and child neglect has been scheduled for 19 December 2014. We are yet to confirm any organization interested in sponsor this event but it that crucial that we have to do it to reduce the issues of drug trafficking and child abuse in the area.
