ACORN Cleveland
ACORN Cleveland is a community organization of working-class people coming together to build power and fight for the changes our neighborhoods need. Through grassroots organizing, collective action, and campaigns on issues like housing, neighborhood conditions, and economic justice, we work to hold landlords, corporations accountable to the people they serve.
ACORN Cleveland is actively seeking passionate community members who want to make a difference. Whether you’re interested in local issues, national advocacy, or community
organizing, there’s a place for you in our growing movement.
Riparian Report
ACORN Cleveland and VAPAC have released a report examining Riparian’s ownership of 153 homes across Cleveland, revealing a pattern of vacancy, neglect, and code violations. More than a year after Riparian acquired the properties, 78% remain vacant, while residents and neighbors have filed more than 150 complaints and the city has issued over 180 civil tickets.
These neglected properties leave neighborhoods dealing with unsafe conditions, blight, and deteriorating housing. The report calls for accountability and action to bring these homes back into responsible use, and for Cleveland residents and community organizations to have a voice in what happens to these properties. Our neighborhoods deserve better than out-of-state investors who buy up homes and leave communities to deal with the consequences.
