ACORN Cleveland
ACORN is expanding its grassroots community organizing efforts in the United States, with Cleveland emerging as a key site for revitalizing community activism. The organization’s recent initial Organizing Committee (OC) meeting in the Glenville neighborhood marks a significant milestone – potentially the first ACORN OC meeting in the US in 15 years outside of New Orleans.
The inaugural meeting, held in a private setting, brought together 14 participants, including local residents, potential leaders, and community stakeholders. While facing typical first-meeting challenges, the gathering demonstrated a strong desire to organize around both local and national issues, signaling exciting potential for community-driven change in Cleveland.
