ACORN Organizing School

ACORN Organizing School

Our flagship course, this training covers the theory and practice of organizing and provides a clear model for any organization working to build power in communities or workplaces.

The ACORN Organizing School is tailored for the people or organization participating. For individuals wanting to learn community organizing methods, the ACORN Organizing School provides an introduction. For organizations already using community organizing, it can also sharpen those skills.

We developed the ACORN Organizing School from a wealth of experience training ACORN members, staff, and leaders around the world. We also draw on our experience organizing trade unions, community, and tenant organizations.

Join us for upcoming training sessions in multiple cities across the nation!

Join us for the upcoming training session in one of six meetings planned for 2024 as part of A2’s initiative. Designed to empower members from the Gulf Coast, East Coast, and Great Lakes regions, this session focuses on essential community organizing skills. Our partnership with Anthropocene Alliance highlights our dedication to grassroots organizing in working-class communities impacted by climate change and environmental abuse. With over 270 member groups across 42 states, Anthropocene Alliance leads the charge in addressing pressing environmental challenges like flooding, toxic waste, wildfires, and droughts. Through these trainings, we aim to mobilize communities to take meaningful action, mitigating climate change, and fostering resilience. Join us this spring in Cleveland, and let’s echo Alinsky’s sentiment together: “Once you organize people around something as commonly agreed upon as pollution, then an organized people is on the move.” If you’re part of an environmental justice organization near these cities reach out and take your effectiveness to a higher level with us at research@acorninternational.org.
